A SAYING HALF REMEMBERED
Find a saying
Describe what you remember. Search for a passage even when its exact words escape you.
Use English. This search covers the English translations included in the reader. Your words are processed in this browser.
The first search downloads about 40 MB of search files, which your browser may cache. Ordinary reading does not need them.
Enter a few words or a sentence.
How are matches chosen?
The search compares your description with short passages from the included English translations. It returns only candidates above a minimum similarity threshold. When none reaches that threshold, it reports “Zero matches found”.
A suggestion is a passage to inspect, not a verified identification of the saying you remember. Similar ideas may occur in several fragments. The result shows the published wording and links to its original text, translator and source.
This search does not compose quotations or translate the corpus. Passages available only in another language are outside its scope. For names, DK references and words in other languages, use .
