SCHOL. EURIP. Rhes.

〈Artofilace appaia, allora i segni primi〉
dello scorpione in mare cadono insieme all’aurora sorgente.

Notes & source

The continuous excerpt ends before the statement about Atlas, matching the retained Latin. Only the terminal semicolon is changed to a full stop.

The pronoun “it” refers to the zodiacal circle discussed immediately before this sentence in Pliny. No explanatory words are inserted into the historical English.

Diels quotes dicitur inter sidera ostendisse without primus; the historical Latin is displayed. Losacco’s published Italian retains the interpretive per primo. This edition difference is explicit, not a claim of identical Latin.
